About: SYLPHIC GLEAM DE is almost 98% Crabbet, and has the makings of an excellent sport horse. Her real-life sire was imported to South Africa in his younger years and has dominated the South African showing scene, where he has been a Supreme Riding Horse Champion several times. He has competed in dressage and show hack, and blends almost pure Crabbet blood into a modern-looking Arabian package--he is very balanced, elegant, and beautiful. He has the classic "Silvern" breeding, and his paternal grandsire is BRIGHT SHADOW, while his maternal great-grandsire is one of my favorite Crabbet studs from the '40s, ORAN.
SYLPHIC GLEAM DE's dam is the Datura owned *SYLVETTE, a lovely chestnut sabino broodmare whose lines include British and Australian-bred Crabbet horses. Her lines diverge from SILVERN GLEAM's pretty dramatically for at least three generations, so SYLPHIC GLEAM DE is not too "closely" bred as nearly pure Crabbet mare, which can sometimes be difficult to do. *SYLVETTE is an excellent broodmare thus far--she is the dam of SYLVER AUGUR DE, who was the 2016 World Reserve Champion Five Year Old Stallion at the recent Salon du Cheval. He is competing very successfully in driving.
SYLPHIC GLEAM DE's lineage leads to what should be a very nice sport horse, probably doing well in show hack, dressage, driving, or a similar discipline. She's a lovely little grey with lots of potential.
